It's truly a sad day. Or is it?
Travertine has ruled the housing world for far too long. With it's heyday being in the late 90s/early 2000s, it's high time went sent these tiles packing. Look, they had their moment in the sun, but now they just don't fit into the clean lines and modern look of today. They scream bachelor pad and/or the Live, Laugh, Love vibe.
We aren't the only ones who think travertine is out! HGTV's Christina Hall sat down with Parade to discuss just how outdated travertine is. Not only will it decrease your home value these days, but according to Hall, "It was kind of like travertine on brown and everything felt very dark. I think when buyers look at that style, it's harder to fix because travertine's a hard material to get rid of."
That said, when picking something that will cover your entire home, like flooring...NEVER go with the trends. I know, it's so hard rule to follow. The NOW will always be fading. So stick to classic looks or something you've always loved, (as in loved your whole life...deep down in your soul). Get what I mean?
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what I think or what anyone else thinks. What matters is that you love it and that you love it for 20 years. It's just good to keep that in mind the next time you go floor shopping.
